The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) is one of the world’s most renowned organizations that has been significantly appreciated by economists for constructing tremendously fruitful outcome in prospering both intra- and extra-regional economic relationships. Though it is meticulously cherished by entrants as well as its citizens as a result of its prolific progress, there are some negative and positive sentiments occurring in the literature about the integration procedure. The complete regional accuracy of this research is carried out from the recent years’ regional economic integration and intra-trade performance of CLMV (Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and Vietnam). Thus, this paper will explicitly manifest the roles and the performances of ASEAN itself in the process of economic integration on CLMV countries and it further addresses some challenges that CLMV face as well as advantages they benefit from. With the support of other studies, this paper also suggests what CLMV countries should work on to improve themselves in order to reduce constraints in the economic integration process. Therefore, the paper presents an intensely rudimentary view of ASEAN to readers for better understanding the concepts of the integration of economy as well as the sustainability, visions, and future goals of this outstanding regional intergovernmental organization, ASEAN, which is a strong and prosperous economic zone throughout the world. The findings confirm that CLMV members are beyond other ASEAN countries and still need time to catch up with ASEAN-6 countries. The research calls to attention, the need for strong government policy recommendations and mechanisms along with the aid of ASEAN members and their collaboration, for the development of the countries and the standard of the economic integration process.
